We have one final class for our Recital Rehearsal. We'll meet in our regular room at the regular time. Thank you for a FANTASTIC 1st year! I cannot wait for the next one! Look for a Welcome email in August! And if you have any friends interested, send them to the Infusing Music Studios website for more information. Share the music love! Homework pp. 38–40: Students color the bells and play the tune to see if they can figure out the song. So fun! Recital practice Everything we did today in class in gearing us up for the recital. Call or email me if you have any questions! Prepare your child for success in 2nd year on the keyboards by joining my summer camp, Let's Play it Again! Parents don't have to attend. Or if you are traveling, purchase the Student Packets, available to ANY 1st year students even if they are not coming to summer camp. They have games and activities to do at home to help review and prime your child for success in Year 2.
You can also get an 8-Note Songbook with all of our 1st Year songs to play on the tone bells. Your kids will love the color coded notes that match the color of the bells, making playing easy and fun! If you want more fun, try these PlayPipes! They are also color coded to go with the 8-Note Songbook. We use them over the summer in Let's Play It Again! Parents come next week! Keep practicing for the recital. It will be here before you know it! Are you looking for summer music classes? Join my summer camp, Let's Play it Again, created specifically for and only open to 1st and 2nd year Let's Play Music students! They are so fun and parents don't have to attend. Student Packets are available to ANY 1st year students. They have games and activities to do at home to help review and prime your child for success in Year 2! Homework: pp. 34–37 Students cut out and glue on pieces for the “Fox Hunt” puppet show. Chords in Pieces The new activity today was singing a broken primary chord on command. The children sang the correct chord a cappella for me when I held up a color. They did fantastic! This shows us that their aural brain is internalizing pitches and their ability to sing in tune is developing. These concepts may seem unimportant, but they are crucial to developing a complete musician. Laying this solid aural foundation now will help your student take dictation in 3rd year and write their own composition. Let's play steps and skips on our bells! If you open your Homework Booklet you'll find some bell music at the back. Encourage your child to play it. Even better, encourage them to start writing their own bell music and notate it if they'd like.
