Musical talent isn’t born, it’s grown. Children develop into musicians through experiences that include: exposure to a variety of music, opportunities to use their singing voice, and hands-on experience with instruments, among other things. Sound Beginnings allows children to explore all of these in an age-appropriate manner designed to instruct and foster further interest in musical study. Exposure to quality classical music allows children the opportunity to learn musical form, structure, rhythm, melody, phrasing, timbre, dynamics, and expression. These aural skills require the brain to perceive and organize complex and diverse sound patterns. Smart Moves dances enhance the aural experience by adding movement, making the experience more meaningful to children and strengthening the connections made in the brain.
Optional home fun activity: Color the Royal Parade coloring page on page 16 in your workbook. (Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.) Comments are closed.
