Parents, thanks for joining us this week! Your children are continuing to grow as mini-musicians, thanks to your continuing support. Keep up the practicing and remember, your child benefits from you sitting by their side every week!
Lesson 15 will be Celebration Station Day. We have a special recital rehearsal scheduled for May 18. Please help your child have an AWESOME experience by practicing with them the next few weeks!
***Recital Prep: Use HW Booklet pp. 54–55 to help your child prepare for the recital. Choose three different locations/pianos for your child to play their composition. Be sure to have them practice their composition introduction using p. 29. Fill in the Recital Practice Log for each time they play. Complete the log by May 18 and your child will ROCK the RECITAL!***
Homework: pp. 34–35 Students transpose a short melody into the key of F Major. Transposing means moving the melody to a different starting and keeping the intervals (or note relationships) the same. This might take a little parent help :)
This familiar favorite will have us adding chords to a melody and learning to improvise in a varied accompanying style!
Our Let's Play Music blog has a fun post all about Yankee Doodle and gives all sorts of little known facts as well as ideas to continue practicing through the summer!
