Parents attend next week for our fun Station Day! Remember, Station Day offers a chance for me to meet one-on-one with you both (parent and student) to celebrate your child’s accomplishments thus far! Just like last year, students will enjoy a sort of “progressive dinner” approach to several stations set up in the studio to enjoy and review skills learned throughout the semester. Let’s Play Music is a results-based program and Station Days are a fun tradition to highlight and celebrate those accomplishments. It is also a fun reminder that we are halfway through the process that is working to develop complete musicians! Your child did great on the Theory Quiz we did together in class this week! It is so fun to see how everyone is progressing. Homework: p. 46–47 Students follow the instructions to color, label, and draw musical notation on the staff. Like our previous puppet show, Skaters (Banditen Galopp by Johann Strauss) has 2 distinct sections and follows the classic ABA form. Listen for the Main Theme (A section-skaters/fallers) and the Lyric Theme (B section- specifically the girl who never falls). There is also a repeat at the end of the B section. (“Dot-dot-do-it-again.”)
